Licensing
Four licences
Three leases and one exclusive. A lease means the beat stays available to other artists; the exclusive takes it off the store for good. Start small if you like: you can upgrade any time and pay only the difference.

Questions
Before you buy
How do I get my files?
Straight after payment. A download link appears on screen and is emailed to you, and it stays valid for 30 days. Lost it? Find my order.
Which licence do I need?
Answer a few quick questions and I'll point you to the right one: Which licence do I need?
What's the difference between a lease and exclusive rights?
A lease is non-exclusive: the beat stays in the store and other artists can lease it too. Exclusive rights take the beat off the store, so you're the only artist who can use it. Either way, the underlying composition stays mine.
Do I need to credit you?
Yes. Credit “mshpyt” on every release, in the title, description or liner notes.
What if my song takes off past the limits?
The licence says you move up a tier once you pass your limits, and that's easy: you only pay the difference between your tier and the next one, not the full price. Going from the MP3 Lease to the WAV Lease, for example, costs just the gap between the two. Upgrade a beat you've bought
Can I use a beat in a film, advert or game?
Only with Exclusive Rights. It's the one tier that includes film, TV, advert and game use.
Do you include stems?
Not with any tier. If you need stems, get in touch.
Can I get a refund?
If a file is faulty, missing, corrupt or not what the page described, you get a refund. Because files are delivered immediately, you give up the usual 14-day right to cancel at checkout. The full details are in the terms of sale.
Where can I buy from?
I currently sell to customers in the United Kingdom only. An order with a billing address elsewhere is refunded automatically.
How does Buy 2, get 1 free work?
Put three leases in your basket and pay for two. The free one can be the same tier as the cheaper of the two you pay for, or a lower tier. So two MP3 leases get you a third MP3 free, and two Unlimited leases get you a free Unlimited, WAV or MP3. Exclusive Rights and upgrades aren't included.
Beyond the four
Full buyout
The exclusive tier is a licence. It takes the beat off the store and no one else can license it from then on, but anyone who leased it before keeps their lease, and the underlying composition stays mine. A buyout is the other thing entirely: the copyright itself transfers to you, and I keep no credit, no publishing and no further involvement.
That isn't something a checkout can do: a copyright assignment has to be written and signed to be valid, and what it's worth depends on what the beat is for. So it's negotiated rather than listed.
Full buyout including copyright assignment: available on request. Email mshpytbeatz@gmail.com with the beat you have in mind.
